Due to the recent storms, Doyle Construction Inc. would like to remind everyone to practice routine roof maintenance. This includes biannual inspection and additional inspections for debris after storms. Early detection of room problems, such as peeling or missing shingles will save you money!

There are two parts to a thorough roof inspection: indoor and outdoor.

Indoor Inspection: Inspect your attic or crawlspace looking for dampness or drip spots. Pay extra attention around vents and chimneys.

Outdoor Inspection: Before you jump on your roof and start tap dancing, please keep in mind basic roof inspection safety. This includes a safety harness, secure rope, proper ladder positioning, and non-slip shoes. Also, never go up on an icy or wet roof.

Once safely on the roof, look for damaged, deteriorating, loose or missing shingles. Inspect the chimney and flashing for cracks or damage. Finally, remove any debris from drainage pipes and gutters.

As always, feel free to contact Doyle Construction with any questions or requests at 510-687-1771.
